We help students find their place in the design process
Members of SiliconJackets control every part of the process. From the architecture of our chips to the specifics of the physical design flow. New members will join one of 3 subteams to develop deeper knowledge in their area of interest
We split up the process into 3 subteams (and growing) to emulate the structure of other semiconductor companies. We use commercial tools to bring students as close as possible to what they may encounter in industry.
The design subteam turns our ideas into RTL which can be synthesized to hardware.
The emulation and verification verifies the functionality of the RTL from the design team, emulates functionality in software and proves effectiveness in hardware emulation platforms.
The physical design team takes the RTL verified by the verification team and completes the process of synthesis and layout to hardware. They ensure the design reaches the performance, area, and power goals set out by the architects.
Apply content learned in your courses or get a head start on industry standard RTL design techniques to prepare you for future industry and/or research work
Learn how to verify designs from individual modules to large integrated Systems on Chip (SoC). Apply verification techniques in software platforms as well as on programmable hardware
Make use of industry standard hardware and software plaforms involved in design, verification, physical design, and hardware emulation with FPGAs
Take what you learn and apply to internships or full time jobs. Add projects from SiliconJackets to your protfolio to demonstate applicable skills
